Release Notes:

First as the brilliant soloist with Miles Davis’s Quintet, then on
a series of albums of his own, Coltrane established himself as a
symbol of the New Jazz. In this package he is backed by the Red
Garland Trio, another of the splinter groups from the Davis
Quintet. The Garland Trio had a large following on its own, but
with Coltrane as the solo voice, it outdid itself.
